AVOWED SKEPTIC NOW A "BELIEVER" IN CHIROPRACTIC

History: A 60 year old male business executive who was rear-ended while waiting to merge into traffic by another vehicle at a low rate of speed. The accident occurred in September, 2010, but he did not come to see Dr. Fiore until May, 2011, a full eight months later. He had already been treated by a family physician, a neurologist and a so-called "Spine Center." He'd had nerve tests, x-rays and MRIs. His middle (thoracic) and lower (lumbar) spine MRIs showed evidence of degenerative disc disease with bone spurs, predisposing him to greater injury even from a relatively minor impact. Patient was treated with medications, physical therapy and facet injections (into the painful spinal joints). These therapies helped a little but did not afford him the relief he needed to be able to return to his active lifestyle--consisting of exercising, walking and golfting--he enjoyed prior to the car accident.

Problem: "Excruciating pain and spasms [caused by rear-end car accident 8 months earlier] in the mid to lower back that was not resolved by other medical means."

Results: "I'm generally pain free and can finally get back to doing not only daily routines but more enjoyable and somewhat strenuous activity (e.g. golfing] that I was unable to enjoy because of the significant pain and limitation.
